Edition No.6
Description
The Macallan Edition No.6 takes its inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes around the distillery and warehouses, where each and every cask of The Macallan is matured before being hand-selected for use by their expert whisky makers. Their estate is a special place, where whisky making, agriculture and nature all live harmoniously amidst outstanding natural beauty.
The Macallan is privileged to have the legendary River Spey flowing majestically through their lands, a river renowned the world over as a home to the mighty Atlantic salmon. During the fishing season, under the expert eye of The Macallan’s Ghillie, Robert Mitchell, a fortunate few can test their skills on the river in the hope of catching – and releasing – a wild Atlantic salmon using Hardy’s incomparable tackle.
Wild Atlantic salmon are at risk of becoming an endangered species. Therefore The Macallan are working with the Atlantic Salmon Trust to help raise awareness of this, and to support vital conservation work on the River Spey and beyond.
The river as inspiration
The pristine waters of River Spey inspired us to tell the tale of this extraordinary whisky in watercolour. The waters that run through the distillery and are used to make The Macallan whisky are truly the soul of the brand. With this in mind, we created an animated film where nature, emotion and water run free to draw in a new generation of consumers.
